Before the cows, before the negotiations, and before Kenya… we’ll be having a special pre-wedding celebration in Minneapolis, Minnesota as we begin this beautiful journey toward marriage. This evening is our way of celebrating with our family and friends at home ; especially those who may not be able to join us in Kenya for the traditional ceremony. Join us for a night filled with love, laughter, good food, great music, and memories we’ll cherish forever as the wedding festivities officially begin.
The Pre- Wedding - Minneapolis, MN
Koito / Traditional Ceremony — Eldoret, KE
We’ll be celebrating our Koito, a traditional Kalenjin ceremony in Eldoret, Kenya where both families officially come together in unity, culture, and love. This special day will honor tradition through blessings, family gatherings, and the dowry ceremony as we begin the process of becoming one family. It will be a meaningful celebration filled with heritage, joy, and unforgettable moments.
Welcome Party - Nairobi, KE
We’ll be hosting a welcome party in Nairobi, Kenya where both families, friends, and loved ones can finally meet, connect, and celebrate together before the traditional wedding ceremony. Think of this as the official gathering where strangers somehow become cousins, friendships are formed instantly, and everyone gets a chance to enjoy Nairobi together before the big celebration ahead.
After Party — The Celebration Continues
After the formal celebrations, we’ll be ending the night with an after party to celebrate Debra & Josiah properly. Once the elders head home, the dance floor opens up, the music gets louder, and the real party begins. Join us for a night of dancing, laughter, celebration, and memories as we close out this beautiful wedding weekend together.
